Indigo workshops

I have done several Indigo workshops in the past several months, including one at USC with the Roski School students. Below are some images from some of the workshops. Indigo is a wonderful process to do with a big group of people, the transformation both in color and in pattern is endlessly exciting.

Different bundles of folded fabric after a first dunking in the vat.

Arms in the vat.

Fabric hanging to dry in the sculpture yard.

We also built a geodesic dome from PVC in the gallery space (thinking about pattern as form and structure as well visual pattern). We used the fabric from the Indigo process to cover areas of the dome.

Group show at Palomar College

I was part of a great glass group show at Palomar College in eastern San Diego, below are some images from the show.

The piece I showed is called Alluvium, it is made up of glass spheres with human hair trapped inside in the shape of bows. The spheres were then used to create photographs that were hung on the wall.

This show was a lot of fun, a great group of people and a really fun mid century campus with its own geodesic dome.

New Geometric work

New work - continuing to play with geometric shapes

It has been so much fun seeing all the different forms I can make that will work on the body with these shapes that puzzle together so nicely. I am working on some new pieces that will be more complex and perhaps more unexpected.
